Federal Government Announces Rewards Program for Homeowners

The Government of Canada announced today that it will invest $79.4 million "to encourage home energy-efficiency retrofits to reduce GHG [green house gas] emissions, and at the same time, help Canadians save money by lowering their energy bills."

ecoENERGY is an ecoACTION initiative developed by Natural Resources Canada. By using energy more efficiently, Canadians can reduce emissions produced through energy use and contribute to clean air, water and energy and a healthy environment for all Canadians. Hearthmakers delivers ecoENERGY under agreement with Green Communities Canada. ecoENERGY Initiatives help Canadians use energy more efficiently, boost renewable energy supplies and develop cleaner-energy technologies.
